Will be dearly missed…

It’s safe to say that the world was properly shook by the death of Alex Trebek, the Jeopardy! host losing his long battle to pancreatic cancer over the weekend. As a result, tributes have been pouring in by the bucketload, the television and film worlds paying respect to one of the most comforting personalities to ever grace a TV screen. Ryan Reynolds was among the many paying tribute, revealing that the TV legend managed to film a cameo for his upcoming film Free Guy while undergoing cancer treatment.

Taking to Twitter, Reynolds wrote “Alex Trebek was kind enough to film a cameo for our film Free Guy last year despite his battle. He was gracious and funny. In addition to being curious, stalwart, generous, reassuring and of course, Canadian. We love you, Alex. And always will.”

His cameo in the most recent trailer shows Trebek hosting an episode of Jeopardy! (naturally), asking a question about Reynolds’ character who’s been “turning heads by being the good guy.” It’s definitely nice to see the TV host on the screen again, and you’ll also be able to catch him in the final episodes of Jeopardy! he taped before his death, his producer Mike Richards revealing that “We will air his final 35 episodes as they were shot. That’s what he wanted.”

Pretty wholesome, his cameo in the new trailer starts around the 1:26 mark. Check it below.
