Nothing like a good pie to ease the soul…

We’ve all been on that classic road trip down the coast, pushing through tiredness and hunger to get to that special camping spot or that coastal town you’re planning to recharge in. Odds are, you’ve stopped in a small town along the way, and feasted upon a delicious pie.

Seriously, if there’s one item all Aussie cafes and restaurants totally nail across the board, it’s your classic pie. Beef, chicken, vegetarian, the opportunities are endless. The only hard part of actually indulging in a pie is deciding on what sauce to drench your gourmet goodness in (tomato or barbecue is the debate that will never die). It’s a killer dish, and soothes the soul like none other. So it’s lucky that the Baking Association of Australia have announced the countries best pies. Tbh, they broke it down to excruciating detail, categorising every possible pie and combination possible. But we’re just gonna give you a quick state-by-state breakdown of some of nation’s best pies, but be sure to also check out the full Bakery Associations list here to get the full, luscious pictures of the nation’s best pies.
