Tesla fans are loyal…

After basically dominating the car market, Tesla has decided to get into the fashion business, and they’ve already sold out of stock. The move into apparel actually started off as a joke funnily enough, with the electric car company deciding to celebrate their 2020 success by selling limited edition red satin shorts on their website. It may sound innocent enough, but in reality it’s a not so subtle shot at sellers who “shorted” Tesla shares by spreading disinformation & betting against the company.

The price for the satin pair is just another example of Elon’s humour, with the shorts retailing for $69.420 USD ($99.70 AUD), with the “420” part of the price a callback to his 2013 sweet where he stated he planned to take Tesla private when stock prices hit $420 USD a share. The shorts were first teased by Musk at last week where he tweeted “Tesla will make fabulous short shorts in radiant red satin with gold trim”, stating that he would “Will send some to the Shortseller Enrichment Commission to comfort them through these difficult times”. The salt is definitely real.

As you can probably guess, the shorts sold out within minutes, actually crashing the site. They’re now going for exorbitant prices on resale outlets. Check out the shorts below as well as some quality humour by Musk himself.
