It’s been almost two years since Conor McGregor was hurtled out of the UFC by opponent Dustin Poirier, the Irish phenom suffering a brutal leg fracture that saw him relegated to wheelchairs and hospital beds for over a year. For a minute there he well and truly dropped off the face of the planet, leaving social media and turning inwards as many suspected that his high profile string of losses and recent injuries had finally shattered his resolve.
Now, fast forward to 2023, and McGregor is back in the public eye, boasting a much larger physique and a sense of determination that he hasn’t had since before he became a household name in the late 2010s. It’s perplexed many as to just how he seems to have bounced back from the seemingly unsurmountable odds, but now, it looks like we’re set to get all of our answers in Netflix’s upcoming doco, McGregor Forever.

Consisting of four parts which are set to begin landing on the streamer next month, the series will focus on Conor McGregor’s comeback efforts following his injuries to Dustin Poirier and showcase all of the highs and lows of his journey back to the Octagon. While McGregor has been the subject of numerous documentaries in the past, McGregor Forever seems to offer a fresh perspective by showing him at his absolute worst, as he’s shown to be lying in a hospital bed left reeling by his recent losses.
It goes so far as showing him at one point explaining, “I thought it was over” as clips from his notorious tirade following Poirier’s defeat of him play in the background. It ends with him affirming his sense of optimism, with him stating the namesake of the series as he proclaims it’s “McGregor, Forever”. Only time will tell, however, as to whether he will truly return to his former place as the star of the UFC. But just going off the trailer for McGregor, Forever, we wouldn’t bet against him. Check it out in full below above along with the highlights from McGregor’s last fight in the Octagon below.
