Denis Villeneuve’s Dune also gets the piss taken out of it…

Futurama, the timeless animated series that first graced our screens before the new millennium, is making a triumphant comeback thanks to Hulu. The update comes following more cancellations and resurrections over the years than a Fast & Furious film, however, it seems the show is well and truly back for ten new episodes now, with the full original cast and satirical air intact.

The trailer for the upcoming season is as bonkers as its predecessors, with the two minute clip trolling everything from Bitcoin, cancel culture, pandemics and more with an absurd viewpoint that truly puts into perspective just how cooked this decade has been.

Along with the current issues of the day, the show has rewarded its day one viewers, resolving the age-old mysteries that have been haunting us like Leela’s “are they or aren’t they” love affair with Fry, the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box (I mean, what could possibly be in there?), the hidden origins of evil Robot Santa (naughty or nice, he’s got issues), and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles.

It seems like a promising revival of one of the greatest animated shows of the 2000s, only time will tell however whether it lives up to the hype. Check out the full trailer below.
