What do you want from a horror film? Jumpscares? Tick. Mythology? Tick? Willem Defoe? Tick. Robert Eggers, has so far not dropped the ball in his directorial career (depending on how you feel about The Lighthouse) and the trailer for his adaptation of iconic 1922 film Nosferatu seems to be keeping with that upward trend.
The log line is pretty straight forward shit-your-pants scary too: “Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.”
And the stars lining up to work with Eggers is once again impressive; a key sign that the director is admired within the industry. The lineup includes Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe:
