Definitely a whacky way to learn the world had gone to shit…

It’s been a long fucking year since the proper onset of COVID-19 last February/ March, the world doubling down like never before to navigate our way through our new normal. I think I’m justified in saying that we all remember where we were for certain milestones in the pandemic, from when TV audiences disappeared to when self-isolation became encouraged and when lockdown was put into effect. However, Suicide Squad actor Jared Leto wasn’t around for any of it, being at a “silent meditation” until March, from which he emerged into a totally new world.

Now, he’s opened up on that whacky experience with late night host Jimmy Fallon while promoting his new crime drama The Little Things, saying “When I went away, there were about 150 cases. And just in that short amount of time, when I came out, there was a shutdown, a state of emergency and the whole world had changed.

“The idea is that you go away, you get rid of your phone, you get rid of distractions, you get rid of everything and you just meditate… But when we were in there, they didn’t tell us.”

It’s pretty crazy, considering old mate was only gone for two weeks. It looks like he won’t be going anywhere any time soon though, especially since he’ll be returning as The Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League director’s cut, due out in March. For now, check out the full interview with Fallon below.
