In what has to be one of the most inexplicably strange commercials ever made, Joe Jonas (aka 1/3 of the Jonas Brothers) has appeared in an ad for the botox alternative, Xeomin. The ad, titled Beauty On Your Terms, sees Jonas waking up in bed fully dressed before proceeding to wander around the house and do Joe Jonas things like drink a glass of water, write in his notebook and play his guitar.
“I try to take care of my skin. Because I believe less is more and really care about what I put in my body,” Jonas says in dialogue that can’t help but feel painfully ironic.
“I want something that keeps me, well, looking like me,” he continues.
The creators of the commercial seem to have inadvertently produced something that would be more at home in an SNL skit – and the internet agrees, with many commenting on the plainly weird vibe of the ad.
that ad where joe jonas hawks botox is absolutely wild we are truly already living in the dystopian future

The commercial has also drawn criticism in regards to its toxic messaging around beauty – using dialogue which celebrates the idea of being comfortable in one’s own skin, while simultaneously trying to persuade the viewer to buy botox in order to get rid of wrinkles (and conform to a societal ideal of beauty). Wrap your head around that.
If Botox Joe Jonas comes into my home I will defend myself
