The Apocalypse is nigh…

This year has definitely been defined by the term “unusual times”. From wildfires to Trump nearly starting WW3 to COVID-19, we’ve definitely had enough drama to last us a decade. Now, it seems goats swarming neighbourhoods is becoming the norm as well, with the wild mountain creatures swarming a UK town last month, and now a California neighbourhood.

23-year-old Zack Roelands recorded the 200 goats on his camera at around 5pm on his way home after running errands, and the footage is equal parts hilarious and terrifying. It appears that the goats managed to escape from their knoll while trying to get food from a neighbour’s backyard.

“They jumped up and broke through the fence,” Roelands said. “Eventually they escaped into the street and started eating all the plants in everyone’s front yard”.

Don’t worry, it only took a couple minutes for the goats to get pushed back into their enclosure, with Roelands explaining  “The goats are actually pretty scared of humans”. This is good information to know for the next goat outbreak, which, going off this ridiculous year, will probably become a regular occurrence in our insane world…
