Been a long time coming…

The new F9 trailer just dropped, and of course it’s stupidly rowdy and absurd, but in the best way possible. Returning for the 9th instalment in the mega franchise sees everyone from Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren and even Fate Of The Furious‘ Charlize Theron on villain duties.

They’ve also brought back a bunch of characters we weren’t expecting, our favourite being Han Lue (Sung Kang) who was definitely dead, but of course plot armour revived him. Other characters include Lucas Black’s Sean Boswell, and Jordana Brewster’s Mia Toretto, who is of course leaving Brian on babysitting duties at home (Cue a box of tissues and Charlie Puth’s ‘See You Again’).

And you’re probably fully aware but in case you’ve been living under a rock, John Cena is meant to appear in this film, apparently being the long lost brother of Vin Diesel’s character Dominic and Mia Toretto in Jakob Toretto (although literally no one has ever brought this bloke up in the past 8 movies, but of course we’ll go with it). Old mate appears to be a master thief and is getting cosy with Charlize Theron’s Cipher, so that’s gonna make for an interesting team up.

Naturally, the new trailer features enough crazy shit to rival an Expandables movie (with the addition of Vin Diesel’s croaky voice overs talking about family), with flying cars, jets, fight scenes, enough guns to arm a small army, and total vehicular warfare (who knew magnets could be so deadly?).

It’s a proper good time and totally ignores the laws of physics or logic, and thus it’s at the top of our watch list. F9 is set to drop on June 25. Watch the new trailer below.
