Hot off surging ahead of the Liberals in the latest round of polling, PM-in-chief Anthony Albanese has further increased the public’s adoration by him, all by skulling a beer.
Taking to Gang of Youths’ concert at the Enmore Theatre after an Inner West labour meeting last night, the PM was understandably keen to kick back, copping a Denzel Frothington and taking his place in the seated section of the Newtown abode (while donning a cheeky Joy Division tee). But of course, he was spotted almost immediately, waving in response to the crowd’s cheers. In true Aussie fashion, however, the cheers for him to skull his beer quickly followed, to which Albo obliged.
It was a key moment of the show, with Gang of Youths frontman David Le’aupepe even going on to sing Albo’s praises (not literally, although we wouldn’t mind a Albo-themed GOY song), stating that although he himself is an anarchist, the PM is “a very nice man”.
No doubt Scott Morrison is continuing to turn in his political grave right about now (good riddance). Check out last night’s viral moment via national treasure Anthony Albanese below.
