Nicely done Reynolds…

With Rick Moranis officially ending his retirement with the new Honey, I Shrunk The Kids sequel, it’s fair to say he’s truly back in the world of show business. But with COVID-19 and all of it’s annoyingness, he’s in a weird state of limbo as the film sits in pre-production, with filming seeming like a long way off at this point. Thus, the stage was perfectly set for Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds to take advantage of Moranis’ seemingly free schedule, and he did it in the most awkward and hilarious way, recruiting Moranis for a commercial to promote Mint Mobile.

The cellular company is actually one of Reynolds’ investments, amongst his “word’s most affordable” streaming service and super successful Aviation Gin. And of course, he’s gonna do whatever he can to promote the hell out of it, and what better way than to link up with Louis Tully himself?

The commercial starts with Reynolds explaining that Mint Mobile has gone “so long without an unlimited plan”, then comparing the new plan to an actor they’ve also gone too long without, old mate Rick himself. The two exchange some awkward banter in an even more awkward looking field, before Reynolds gushes over Rick, prompting him to walk away. It’s strange, unnatural, but totally hilarious, and it’s just super cool to see Rick Moranis back on the screen again. Check the full commercial below.
