The film drops on the same day as his new album…
Talk of Kid Cudi’s upcoming eighth studio album, Entergalactic, has been brewing for almost three years and it’s finally almost upon us. If that wasn’t exciting enough, Cudi has long been teasing the release of an accompanying animated film to go along with it.
The 92-minute television special (of the same name) will drop via Netflix on September 30, the same day as the record, and the streaming service has finally released the first trailer. The animated film follows the story of “two young artists navigating the twists and turns of finding love in New York City” with Cudi playing the voice of the film’s protagonist, Jabari, who falls in love with Meadow (played by Jessica Williams).

Directed by Fletcher Moules and executive produced by Black-ish creator, Kenya Barris, the film features a star-studded cast including the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, Ty Dolla $ign, Jaden Smith, Laura Harrier and even Macaulay Culkin.
