Over the past few years, Asics’ ‘Craft For Mind’ has seen them partner with brands all over the world for limited-edition releases that not only offer rare iterations of classic silhouettes, but also raise funds for various charities.
Now they’ve teamed up with Aus brand Jungles Jungles, known for their post-Y2K, surreal pieces, for a sprayed-up reimagining of the GEL-CUMULUS 16. Each pair is airbrushed by hand, loaded with embellishments, and stamped with Jungles’ tongue-in-cheek messaging like “togetherness” and “hope you’re well”. No two shoes are the same.
Proceeds from the drop will go to The Torch, a charity that supports Indigenous men and women in the Victorian prison system by teaching art skills through its Indigenous Art Officer program.
The first stop was the Sydney pop-up (Aug 14th-16th), which has already wrapped, but Melbourne is still to come (Aug 20th-23rd) before the online release via Jungles Jungles’ site on Aug 22nd for $240 AUD.
