Having arrived on Sydney’s sneaker scene in the past few years, Butter & Subtype Store have made their presence felt by curating loyal fanbases on both fronts. Butter, initially a fried chicken spot with a hip-hop twist, has become a favourite eatery for visiting stars including The Wu-Tang Clan & Post Malone. White Iverson approves! May we suggest the watermelon slushie? It’s since expanded to becoming a sneaker consignment store, where people can purchase kicks while they chew on crispy snacks, while their online webstore also hosts brands like Numb, Pleasures & Puma.
Meanwhile, Subtype Store has hosted international sneaker designers like Jeff Staple (Pigeon Dunk, please) and Careaux in its clean, minimalist CBD store, alongside a wide range of street favourites like Nike & Reebok, to contemporary brands like Mr. Completely & MISBHV. Also, they have a store dog in there sometimes who is fun to pat.
Now, the two parties have joined forces on their ‘Not For General Consumption’ range, which you can see in this very clean, very yellow flatlay:
If you don’t like icy toes while you’re rooting, then today’s your lucky day. The collection includes feet-warmers with ‘I FUCK WITH MY SOCKS ON’ printed assertively across the ankle, while the leading ‘NOT FOR GENERAL CONSUMPTION’ slogan also appears on socks and shirts. All of this arrives in a black and yellow, Wu-Tang Killa Bees-inspired colourway, and you can shop it right here.
The collection will be celebrated with a free party for customers in a Sydney warehouse this Saturday night, which will be soundtracked by emerging party-starters SETTINGS. Unfortunately, it’s sold out – sad face – but you can live vicariously via the pictures below:
