Now, Chris has unveiled his swaggiest venture yet – a souvenir jacket crafted in collaboration with our pals at Halfsleeve. For the past eight years, the Surry Hills boutique has been putting it on for the 2010 with a strong emphasis on supporting local artists, musicians and businesses. Their latest range is no different, recruiting Chris to design a garment that pays homage to their mutual Asian heritage. Arriving in a silky green, black and navy, the jacket is also reversible – meaning that you’re definitely getting bang for your buck. One side displays Chris’ drawing of a ferocious tiger with a Surry Hills tag, while the other displays the Halfsleeve logo in their OG and timeless black and gold colourway.
The jacket is the centrepiece for the new Halfsleeve FW16 range that also features hoods, longsleeves, soccer jerseys and tees with nods to cult brands from Carhartt to Kappa. It arrives with a lookbook filled with Sydney’s most notorious Asians venturing throughout Chinatown and doing Asian activities like playing pool, going to karaoke and having nice haircuts – see if you can spot a few familiar friends of LWA in the pictures!
The jacket will officially launch at Halfsleeve on Friday, June 17 from 7:00pm where Chris will also be debuting some of his new works – head down for some free beers and purchase an item or two for this winter.
