Fans of Matthew Miller’s collection for The Woolmark Company can rejoice. The London-based designer’s unique line, that takes inspiration from a quote by German industrial designer, Dieter Rams; ‘Form follows function’, and tames the ruggedness of Merino wool, is now available in boutique retail outlets around the world.
Taking out the coveted award is undoubtedly a massive step in Miller’s path to the pinnacle of the design world. “Winning the International Woolmark Prize has been an incredible journey,” he says. “It has helped in cementing my name as a global innovative designer and gain access to the best retailers and stores in the world.”
As you can see from the gallery above, ingenuity is at the heart of Miller’s collection which includes caps made from 100% merino wool; coats and utility belts made from vulcanized wool – a process pioneered by inventor Thomas Hancock in which natural rubber is printed on the surface of fabric – making them completely water resistant.
