Having teamed up for previous collections that combine Carey’s artistic perspective with Billabong’s premium approach to design, we’re now able to feast our eyes on the new drop, which once again showcases his connection to Country and evolving understanding of identity.
“This collection is deeply meaningful to me,” says the Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist. “All my life, my art has been a way to explore my identity and my connection to the stories of my Country. This range still captures that journey — it’s about honouring the past, but it also acknowledges how I’ve grown and who I’ve become along the way.”
Featuring hats, shorts, tees, towels and more, the drop is adorned with the First Nations’ red, yellow and black while retaining a laidback coastal feel. Carey’s reinterpretation of the Billabong logo is front and centre, offering a glimpse into the lens through which he views the world, while simply looking rad — the very definition of wearable art.
The collection is available right now at Billabong.com.au or in-store at Billabong, Surf Dive ’n Ski, and surf shops around the country!
