Who would buy this.

With summer hitting in the Northern hemisphere kicking off, we shouldn’t be surprised to see huge labels venturing into beach-related products. Umbrellas, beach bags, volleyballs etc, are all important ways of getting that luxury brand recognition out there and ultimately drawing attention to a company’s mane bread and butter, whether that be swimwear, clothing, luggage, cars.

Fair enough brands need to branch out, but this Louis Vuitton beach bat and ball set has to be the most overpriced item we’ve ever come across… For $3,550 USD you can get – wait for it – two wooden rackets and two blue rubber balls, both featuring the LV logo, plus a carry bag made with Vuitton’s signature Damier Azur canvas. That’s it.

It doesn’t come with a holiday or small amount of gold or oil, it’s just a version of the beach equipment which is available for $50 from Kmart, with at the reasonable price of $5,200AUD. If you see someone playing with this at the beach, you should immediately try and make friends with them. After all, if they’re dropping $5K on some wood and rubber, imagine what they’re throwing around at their parties.
