Update: The full shoot from GQ (photographed by An Le) is now live.
Between spearheading the global grime movement, preparing for another Air Max collaboration with Nike and starting his own unisex clothing label Mains, it’s surprising that the British emcee has time to breathe. Still, Skepta has found time to cover the April issue of GQ Magazine alongside supermodel and all-round queen Naomi Campbell – and yes, it’s a huge vibe.
According to GQ, the two met at the British Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2016, and have maintained a friendship since, although this is the first time they’ve worked together professionally. Campbell is seen posing topless wearing Skepta’s new underwear line, which falls under his Mains label – and if there’s a good way to get publicity for your upcoming label, then this is it.
Given the intimacy of the images, those Skepta & Naomi Campbell dating rumours are now in full swing, while the issue will see the two discussing “race, sex, love and black power.” Critics like NME are already calling the cover ‘instantly iconic,’ and we’re not going to disagree.
