With a unique take on Australian womenswear, The Grand Dame’s latest Spring/Summer 2016 collection features dark feminine vibes, and offers timeless minimalist pieces which are easy to wear and perfect for any wardrobe.

The Grande Dame – French for ‘Great Lady’ – is a Australian label created by designer Cassie Polgar, who has worked previously for surf brands Hurley, Volcom and OneTeaspoon before embarking on creating her own line.

The new collection from The Grand Dame showcases apparel in deep textures, asymmetrical and unconventional silhouettes, and a classic tonal colour palette of black, white, and grey. Inspired by culture and travel, this season’s collection takes cues from Japanese style, hence the kimono and a slightly gothic Harajuku feel.

The Great Dame’s collections are titled as chapters, allowing the viewer to make their own interpretation of each collection and then weave their own story into it, with Chapter II as their latest seasonal instalment. You can get your own piece of their collection IRL at S2 in Perth, or online via their online store:
