Nothing says ‘Vegas Baby!’ quite like a residency show.

Vegas residencies were generally nostalgic and traditionally known as the place where an artist’s career goes to die… but the times, they are a-changing, and these days a Vegas residency cannot only revive your career, it can boost it at it’s prime. Oh, and it can certainly cheer up your bank account too – just ask these guys…

CELINE DION ($US475,000 PER SHOW)

Celine Dion is the OG. As the first musician to sign on for a Vegas residency (not at the dwindling end of their career), she changed the game and now has the very coveted title as the first artist to ever have two Vegas residencies with her two shows, A New Day and Celine. And while it was initially a risky move, it seems she certainly made the right choice, recently celebrating her 1,000th show at Caesars Palace and earning a cool $475,000 per show. In 2016, she made $26 million alone from her Vegas residency. There’s no doubt about it, her heart, and bank account, will certainly go on and on.

LADY GAGA (REPORTED $1,000,000 PER SHOW)

Even though Gaga is yet to actually begin her residency, which is reported to start in late 2018, there is talk that her stint in the city of sin is worth $100 million, with the lady herself pocketing a sweet $1 million per show. After the cancellation of her Joanne tour this year due to “severe pain”, fans will now be able to see her take to the stage at MGM’s Park Theatre for her Vegas shows.

JENNIFER LOPEZ ($350,000 PER SHOW)

Jenny from the block used to have a little, and now she has a LOT… of cash – thanks in part to her residency at The Axis, Planet Hollywood that she also shared with fellow diva, Britney Spears. J Lo’s residency began in 2016 and will wrap up in June of this year, leaving Jenny with a reportedly very pretty penny in the form of $26 million for her two year run.

BRITNEY SPEARS ($475,000 PER SHOW)

You wanna hot body? You want a Maserati? You better work, bitch. And work she certainly has. After her final performance on New Year’s Eve, the princess of pop’s residency at The Axis, Planet Hollywood has seen her earn over $103 million over her four-year stint, reports Forbes. And if that wasn’t enough, there are also reports that Miss Spears has recently signed a new deal for a residency in 2019 at the Park Theatre, inside the Monte Carlo Casino & Resort, after Lady Gaga finishes up her residency at the same theatre.

THE CHAINSMOKERS

Just because you can’t sing and dance, doesn’t mean you can’t get a Vegas residency – just ask The Chainsmokers. The DJ duo signed an exclusive three-year deal with Wynn Nightlife, which venues include XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club, and while the exact amount hasn’t been disclosed, the pop-focused EDM duo have already earned $38 million from their catchy tunes in 2017.

MARIAH CAREY

In 2015, Ms Carey announced her Vegas residency at Caesars Palace and while she has been tight lipped on exactly how many dollars she signed on the dotted line for, there have been rumours she was offered a similar fee to original Vegas resident, Celine Dion, which places her firmly around the $30 million dollar mark, for two years. That is a lot of cash for someone who can’t sing or dance anymore… there might be hope for us all yet.

CALVIN HARRIS

Not only has Calvin Harris been ranked as the world’s richest DJ for the past five years running by Forbes, found some time to hit the gym, and managed to ditch ex-Taylor Swift – he has now signed a deal with Wynn, Las Vegas, which will earn him six-figures per performance. That means a whopping £200 million deal to continue his Las Vegas residency at Wynn until 2020. With $US48.5 million in the bank last year, things can only get better for Mr Harris.

ADELE ($500,000 PER SHOW)

Rumour has it Adele will be rolling in the dough if she accepts the reported $2.5 million dollar a week paycheck that is currently being offered to her for a 12 month Vegas residency at Wynn. That means the songstress will be earning around $500,000 per show, totalling $26 million for 52 performances, placing her firmly on the list for one of the highest paid Vegas residencies.

BRUNO MARS

While Bruno isn’t technically a Vegas resident like the rest of our list, after his recently completed 24K tour, there is much talk of a certified residency at Caesars Palace, with the hotel reportedly offering to pay him $978,000 per show. If the deal does go ahead, he will be the highest paid performer Vegas has ever seen, easily beating out big name performers. Don’t believe me? Just watch.

ELTON JOHN

Sir Elton John, the master showman, is giving nothing away. With no official figures available on exactly what the rocket man has been earning during his Caesars Palace residency since 2011, there is only speculation that he is earning around $500,000 per show due to ticket sales. With two Vegas residencies under his belt, he is stepping off the stage for good in May of this year.
