Whilst US President Donald Trump is once again claiming that he is the victim of a democrat-lead witch hunt, it seems that his impeachment is closer than ever. If it happens would be the third time in US history a president has been impeached, following Andrew Johnson (1868) and Bill Clinton (1998) are the only others (Nixon resigned ahead of his impending impeachment).
Though impeachment is possible, 20 Republican senators would need to effectively abandon the Trump in the Senate to convict him and remove him from office, turning over the presidency to Mike Pence.
