Easter really is a time for joy, and this year huge lineups at Bad Friday and Good Saturday have given us even more to look forward to other than hot-cross buns.

We all know Bad Friday – the festival is nine years old now, and for many punters it’s become as much of a tradition as the sugar hangover you feel from consuming your weight in chocolate over Easter. This years lineup is once again a mix of local heavyweights like Betty & Oswald and Big White, as well as a tasty collection of artists plucked from around the country including Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and West Thebarton. Oh, and don’t forget the huge secret headliner. *wink*

Bad Friday isn’t the only treat we’re getting this year, with a huge lineup announced for the inaugural Good Saturday festival the following day, which includes You Am I, Something For Kate and C.W Stoneking. The family-friendly day festival also features an Inner-West craft beer orgy that will probably give the music a run for it’s money, with local stalwarts such as Young Henry’s, Grifter, and Waywards Brewery providing the sauce to shake of Friday’s hangover with ease.

We’ve been seeing a lot of The Belligerents lately, and we ain’t complaining. The fun and power of their space-rock psychedelic tunes are only matched by lead singer Lewis Stephenson’s energy and highly unique dancing style that will definitely get the party going on your Friday.

C.W Stoneking – Zombie (Good Saturday)

Armed with a swagful of tunes inspired by music from the decades past and the tales to match his eccentric music, the enigmatic C.W Stoneking and his band are the perfect accompaniment to a sunny Saturday arvo. The blues/folk artist will undoubtedly be bringing the boogaloo as he plucks along at Good Saturday.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets – Buzz (Bad Friday)

There’s certainly been plenty of buzz (see what we did there) around Perth rockers Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Over the last couple of years as their brand hooky melodies and prog riffs has seen them blow away lucky punters around the country, leaving sweaty fans wanting more everywhere they go.

All Our Exes Live In Texas – The Devils Part (Good Saturday)

Having released their stunning debut, 2016’s When We Fall, All Our Exes Live In Texas have made a name for themselves with their heavenly harmonies, jangly strings and tales of love and loss melting hearts around the world. It’s not often you see so much talent in one group, so be sure to catch them at Good Saturday.

A lineup change has unfortunately seen These New South Whales drop out of the Bad Friday festival. Sad, we know, but the empty space couldn’t have fallen into more capable hands with local booze soaked punk rockers Pist Idiots coming in to save the day. Having built a reputation as a commanding live outfit with sing-a-long tunes you can raise a beer to, they are the not to be missed substitutes of the festival.

Augie March – Bootikins (Good Saturday)

Former triple j Hottest 100 winners Augie March have jumped on the Good Saturday lineup for their first show since since the release of their brand new album Bootikins. You can expect to see a mix of classic tunes like ‘One Crowded Hour’ and ‘The Cold Acre’ with fresh anthemic indie folk from the new album.

Betty & Oswald – Figure It Out (Bad Friday)

Dropping one of our favourite tunes last year, local indie rockers Betty & Oswald are a must-see act at Bad Friday this year. The way they blend smooth dueting with funky grooves is inescapably fun and soulful at the same time, and keep your eyes out for some sexy dance moves from their mysterious bass player.

Andy Golledge – One Damn Night (Good Saturday)

Thought by many to be one of the best singers in Sydney, Andy Golledge has earnt a dedicated following around the country. Having recently taken his collection of folk tunes (that shoot straight for your heart) over to the US for a run of shows, you can rest assured the man and his band are ready to deliver a swaggering and lively show to Good Saturday.

Needing no introduction are Good Saturday headliners You Am I, they’ve played more pubs that you’ve probably had hot dinners, won an armful of ARIA awards and produced loads of tunes that have been cemented as Aussie classics. Everytime you catch them they seem to be more energetic and exciting than the last time and we’re sure this time will be no different.
