After a busy 2021 that saw her return to the live stage, international export Alison Wonderland seems to be continuing the heat into the new year…

And she’s not wasting any time, releasing her new single ‘Fear Of Dying’ along with some immersive accompanying visuals. The new single sees the international export double down on the hybridised trap and future bass sonic palettes that she’s become renowned for, cascading synths, drums and 808s exploding against one another in a mind-warping fashion. Her vocals are especially emotive in this cut as well, her utterance of the title lyric and the verses bubbling with euphoria and resonance. And when they connect with that frenetic drop, they find perfect synchronicity.

The visuals are equally as explosive as the sonics, a frenzied camera following her around a cityscape as she kidnaps a you’re version of herself; seemingly signalling the beginning of a new era for the Alison Wonderland project. Contrary to past visuals such as ‘Bad Things’ and the lyric video for her previous single ‘Fuck U Love U,’ the homegrown muso is grounded in a cityscape in ‘Fear Of Dying,’ traversing the streets with the aid of fast-paced shots that make you feel like you’re right there with her.

Definitely one of Alison’s most hard-hitting releases yet. Here’s hoping we finally get the follow up to 2018’s Run that we’ve been waiting for. Check out ‘Fear Of Dying’ below and be sure to buy/stream it here.
