You better live forever Paak…

Anyone that listened to Pop Smoke’s recent Faith album would be fully aware of just how delicate a process releasing posthumous music is, and just how much can go wrong in the process.

The album was heavily slammed for how foreign it sounded compared to Smoke’s earlier works, with his label boss Steven Victor going so far as directly criticising it’s total execution. And although recent posthumous works from the likes of Mac Miller, Juice WRLD and DMX haven’t received nearly as much criticism, it’s still an extremely delicate balancing act with a high reward, but an even higher risk.

However, it seems Anderson .Paak has his mind firmly made up on the issue when it comes to his own music, getting a recent tattoo with instructions should he ever pass away (fingers crossed it’s not any time this century).

Inscribing on his arm, Paak wrote (more rather, his tattoo artist wrote “When I’m gone please don’t release any posthumous albums or songs with my name attached. Those were just demos and never intended to be heard by the public.”

Although this is totally fair, this would be extremely saddening to hear for major Paak fans, with longtime devotees fully aware of how damn prolific the man is; I mean he literally lives in the studio.

But nonetheless, the man’s got wishes, and they better be respected. Luckily, he’s already gifted us with several albums and a wide array of EPs, and it doesn’t look like he’s gonna slow down any time soon. Check out his most recent track ‘Skate’ with Bruno Mars below, as well as our all-time favourite album of his, of course we’re referring to 2016’s Malibu. Check them both below.
