Yes, we do… Kinda… Sorta. As Hayley explains the bones of the track were born while her husband, DMA’S guitarist was noodling away in the background. “I was sitting on the balcony with a wine, borderline chain-smoking, knowing that I would be regretting the cigarettes in the morning but unable to stop. He started looping a guitar intro that he was working on for Gwen Stefani and I just started writing a poem to it in my head. I asked him if I could record it so I wouldn’t forget it, and those draft vocals ended up being the final vocals you hear in the verses.”
The track itself is a foray into avant-pop with Hayley incorporating a little bit of spoken word before the near-disco beat kicks in. As would be expected, her vocals soar as she sings about coming to terms with letting things slip in life:
But it’s gone and it’s gone
Yet my life carries on ‘til the morning
And I’m still here
“The cigarette in that song just symbolises any number of things we do that feel or look good in the moment, but ultimately suck your life away,” she says.

We can safely assume that this next body of work, following two solo EPs will be her strongest work to date, continuing on from EP’s The Piss, The Perfume, The Drip and Fall In Love. Probably never been a better time to “follow” Hayley on Spotify in our opinion and stay tuned.
