Betty Taylor put a pretty bow on their first era.

And what a time it’s been. Since their debut single ‘Stallin’’ premiered on Triple J, followed by ‘Glitter’, ‘Can’t Get Enough’’ and ‘Young Dumb Immature’, they’ve amassed over two million streams, signed with WME, supported the Rubens, girl in red, and more, and played the biggest festivals in the country. Today, they release their debut EP, Young Dumb Immature, a heartfelt collection capturing love, heartbreak, and growth.

The EP unfolds like a diary, with each of its seven tracks offering a glimpse into a unique moment in Sophie Patrick’s journey. ‘Stallin’’ and ‘Can’t Get Enough’ capture the dizzying rush of crushes and daydreams, while ‘Young Dumb Immature,’ ‘Glitter,’ and ‘Hollow’ turn the lens on deeper, real-life connections and relationships. Meanwhile, ‘Gaslighter’ emerges as a powerful anthem, channeling the raw emotion of personal struggles into a universal call to reclaim one’s voice and strength.

“It’s full of all the things I wanted to say to people but never could directly,” says frontwoman Sophie Patrick. “The person I am today is proud of being so vulnerable and grateful for having the space to write freely, without expectations.”

Producer Aidan Hogg played a pivotal role in bringing Young Dumb Immature to life, guiding the band through the creative process and shaping the EP’s sound. Reflecting on the experience,  Patrick shares, “Aidan made us feel at home in the studio. He made the environment fun and relaxed, and over time, we went from just tracking songs to writing in the room. His understanding of my musical influences made the writing process so inspiring.”

Betty Taylor is hitting the road to celebrate the release of their debut EP, Young Dumb Immature, with a string of intimate live shows. The tour kicks off on Thursday, December 12, at Melbourne’s Workers Club, followed by a stop at Sydney’s Low 302 on Friday, December 13, and wraps up at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on Saturday, December 14. Fans can expect the band’s signature heartfelt energy and captivating performances as they bring their new music to life.
