Hotel can do no wrong…

Since bursting onto the music scene with his debut hit ‘Loose Change’ in 2020 and his subsequent moves behind the scenes, Sydney-based Hotel (real name Andrew Tudehope) has made a name for himself as one of the most genre-pushing artists in the city. Boasting a sound rife with attitude and drawing from the indie, rock and punk spectrums, he’s managed to carve out a small corner of the genre sphere for himself that almost defies description. His latest single, ‘SANDO’, is a continuation of his efforts, and hence makes it fitting that he be our Artist of the Week.

Featuring a zesty guitar line along with hurtling synths and alluring vocals from the man himself, the record listens like a trippy journey into the watery depths, one that gets more murky with each and every listen. It’s a melodic journey that encapsulates the essence of beach life – sunbathing, relaxation, and the sheer transcendence that washes over you by the shore. It aligns with Hotel’s sentiments in kind, with the singer explaining, “By the sea, we are all equal as we sit on our beach towels. All are just there to bask in the sun and swim. At the beach like ice cream, our troubles melt away.”

It’s one of Hotel’s strongest releases to date, and thankfully, it seems he’s finally set to share with us the full fruits of his labour, with ‘SANDO’ being the latest taste of his upcoming LP, which is set to land in October of this year, which makes it fitting that he be our Artist of the week.
