Now, it’s got a chaotic new music video to match, starring none other than Oscar-nominated actor and all-purpose wildcard John C. Reilly as a shouting, stomping televangelist.
Reilly reportedly convinced White to visualise the track after it started gaining steam, and it’s easy to see why. The lyrics were pulled from an actual religious chain letter Jack found taped to a wall — surreal, a little unhinged, and tailor-made for a guy like Reilly to scream into the void.
White gave Reilly and director Gilbert Trejo (yep, Danny Trejo’s son) total creative freedom — and stepped back to let the madness unfold. The result? A sweaty, gospel-noir fever dream that feels more like a cult recruitment tape than a music video.
White and Reilly go way back — they met at a White Stripes gig and even released two singles together on Third Man Records in 2011. Earlier this month, Reilly dropped his own debut solo album as Mister Romantic, his vaudeville-loving alter ego.
