Is this perhaps the first ever example of an artist literally living up to one of their song titles?

We’ve gotta admit, we know very little about Kate Moth. In fact, you could say that there’s a bit of mystery around them — maybe that’s their vibe. What we do know we can condense into a couple of sentences that you can munch on while you absorb their debut track ‘Overnight Sensation’.

The band has been gigging for a year, has built a bit of a cult following, played at SXSW, and they’ve attracted the attention of ARIA-winning producer Wayne Connolly, who signed them to his label and produced their first handful of tunes. Which brings us to ‘Overnight Sensation’…

The track is this sardonic look at fame, wrapped up in this tight post-punk-meets-indie sonic. Sonically, there’s a bit of Gang of Four and maybe even early 2000s Strokes-wave in there, with frontman Seth nailing the disaffected delivery while still giving the track everything it needs to hook you right in.

What more do you want? Well, Kate Moth — maybe some more music ASAP? Pls? Go follow Kate Moth and do the research that this article is clearly lacking right here.
