There’s something about Terry…

I mean to say, there’s something about The Terrys. The South Coast outfit’s rise over the past three years (yes, the band formed in 2020) has been pretty much unparalleled. With a debut #3 album, Hottest 100 entries, and over 250K monthly Spotify listeners, it feels like they’re well on their way to conquering Australia. And they’ve have even set the rest of the world in their sights with a mammoth EU tour on the horizon.

But, before we get ahead of ourselves, the group have just added an uplifting new single ‘No Bad Days’ to their swelling catalog of festival friendly bops. The tune kicks off with a melancholic bass line with frontman Finchy waxing lyrical about the ups and downs of the spinning carousel of life before an anthemic chorus kicks in, buoyed by some crunchy guitars.

“The lyrics came about after I asked a lovely old bloke in the bottle shop how his day’s been and he said ‘no bad days mate.’ At that time, I was having a rather unusual day, so I said in my head, ‘there’s no bad days until you have a bad day.’ Then I thought, yep, that’s a lyric, so I wrote it down in my notes,” Finchy says. “A few weeks later, we were in the studio for the first time with Chris, and Trent was laying down the most emotional bass line as the start of a new song. I knew it was the perfect opportunity to drop the lyrics in.”

The track comes with the news that The Terry’s sophomore record Skate Pop will be dropping on February 23rd 2024, and will feature previously released tunes ‘Silent Disco’ and ‘Clouds’ . The album, according to guitarist Lukas, is about “finding comfort in discomfort. It reflects where we were all at in our own lives at the time, dealing with our own doubts and struggles. We hope people listening can relate to this. On a lighter note, we can’t stop listening to the album haha and I hope that’s the case with everyone else too.”
