Australia, it’s the country where we champion the underdog spirit, where pumping your fist to a ballad is automatic and where giving up is never an option. If the spirit of the sunburnt country could be personified, it’d be in the form our favourite runner-up and victim of the most famous inside job since 9/11, Shannon (rock and) Noll. The vocal powerhouse has just announced his brand new album Unbroken will be hitting shelves around the country in February 2018.
Although it’s been nearly seven years since his last full-length, it’s hard to imagine there will be much of a stylistic shift from the power-pop ballads we’ve come to expect from the songwriting maestro with already released singles ‘Southern Sky’ and ‘Who I Am’ delivering us the first tastes of classic Nollsie. Needless to say he’s pretty pumped to be getting some new material out to the world.
“It’s been a good while since I’ve released an album even though I’ve been writing the whole time and I’m so proud to say that these songs are the best of all the songs I have written,” says the 42-year-old.

And if an announcement of a new album has got you cutting off the sleeves on your flanno in anticipation, Nollsie is also taking Unbroken on the road next year, hitting Sydney, Dapto, Adelaide, Brissy and Melbourne. On the future hits of the new album he says, “I’m champing at the bit to go play them live. There were a couple of years where I didn’t play as much, but that has revitalised me.”
So get out and catch Nollsie at one of these shows next year, ya dogs. Tickets and info here.
