Keeping up the Thursday morning madness, the OG of all OGs Baker Boy has today released his new single ‘Ride,’ and it’s the perfect feel good thumper to start your day.

Written with his cousin Yirrmal, the tune sees the rhythmic weapon continue to push and expand his ever-growing artistry, with fast-paced verses and Yolngu soul in the hooks crafting an instant crowd-jam that is impossible not to bust a smile to. The tune also takes inspiration from disco in its orchestration, with fun-loving horns, bubbling guitars and retro synths injecting the fire of dance into your loins. But of course he keeps it all the way 100 for the hip hop purists, with a killer breakdown around 2:50 that seems him go all the way in, proving that whether it be disco, soul, funk, or hip hop heater, he can truly do it all.

Speaking on the new tune, Baker Boy affirms his love of dance, saying “I wanted to make a song that could bring people together on the dance floor, no matter who they are or where they come from.

“I’m driven by the vision that I have of people coming together, visions of positivity and fun and telling stories that people can relate to. That’s the main message —just bringing people together, no matter what your background, or how you dance, let’s just get together and celebrate and I think that’s powerful. We need more of that.”
