Last time we heard from The Beefs, they were showing us around Bondi and drinking White Claw – what a time to be alive. Now, the band fronted by Sammy Smith (and featuring a collection of Sydney wizards backing him up inc. Lucy Lucy and Kirin J Callinan) have returned with a brand new blood-boiling slice of Australiana in the form of ‘Ordinary’.
Once again we’re seeing Smith wrestle with his inner party animal and lose, sucked into the tin-laden abyss. “I’ve developed an allergy to a bad time / I can not help myself in falling out of line / It’s a bittersweet time” he sings over strumlicious guitars and a driving rhythm section.

As with all previous video clips from the band, the visuals are a collage of Aussie nostalgia. Not sure where they get all of these clips from or even who constructs them, but it only cements the idea the The Beefs are longing for a more simple time, a time when beers flowed and the Aussie larrikin spirit reigned. Or perhaps, it was free stock footage….
Either way, This one gets our tick of approval and we’ve heard whispers that the Beef Bus will be hitting the road in the coming weeks. Go follow them on Instagram to stay up to date.
