After years of throwing some of Sydney’s most renegade and off the hinge parties, Byron-based deckslinger Billy Xane is finally giving us a taste of his original music.

And it comes in the form of his debut single ‘Hope’ ft. Sydnee Carter, which is out today. The track sees the muso swap the archaic drums and kicks he’s unleashed in his many DJ sets across the state for uplifting synths and drums, dipping into the pop stratosphere for what’s an especially emotive and poignant offering.

Vocalist Sydnee Carter also comes through with plenty of heat and rigour as well, dropping airy vocals as she flutters between her head and chest voice, especially on lines like “Guess I found a way”. Her breezy utterances mesh perfectly with the ember like orchestration around her, the synchronicity reminiscent of early 2000s pop while the dancier elements harken back to early 2010s house.

Speaking on the aim behind the emotive new offering, Xane explains, “I wanted to make a song that lifted the mood, something to inspire you to live life to its fullest.  The production, backed by Sydnee’s incredible vocals create this awesome sense of happiness  & euphoria, we hope you feel the same way.”
