“I remember that year when everything was shut down because of the corona thingy?” you’ll say to your disinterested grandchildren in the future. “Sure you do,” they’ll reply, “prove it!” At that point you’ll be able to pull out your dusty old “Rather Be At Splendour” shirt and rub their faces in it, because you bought one today.
That’s right the festival organisers have released a shirt to raise funds for the legends who normally would be working at the festival but, thanks to COVID-19, haven’t been able to do their jobs. They’ll be splitting the money via the Support Act initiative which is aiming to help artists and others in the industry who are struggling at the moment.
“Support Act is delighted to partner with Splendour in the Grass to encourage their regular Splendour crew to access our Crisis Relief Grants. These are available to all crew and music workers who are struggling financially, and who meet our criteria. To apply, or for more information, visit the Get Help page on our website” said Support Act CEO Clive Miller.
Check out the shirts below and head here to shop them, and don’t forget to score yourself a pre-loved SITG 2021 ticket and catch Gorillaz, The Strokes and Tyler, The Creator in all their glory!
