Been keen for this album for a long time…

After what feels like an eternity-and-a-half, Melbourne-born maestro Chet Faker has today released his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Hotel Surrender,’ revisiting the eclectic sonic soundscape that propelled him into the spotlight in 2012.

Written as a return to making music that simply felt good, the latest body of work features Faker’s signature swagger-drenched basslines along with riveting melodies and hooks that linger on your mind for days on end; brewed from the cauldron of swanky soul that first established him as a total force in the national and international music scenes in the early 2010s.

Finished predominantly in March 2020 with the death of his father shortly thereafter, the LP sees Faker venture even further into the completion process compared to past works, digging deep to find new underlying meanings whilst attaining reprieve from the global pandemic.

Highlights include the rolling pianos and lush instrumentation of ‘Get High,’ the fiery vocals splashed across ‘Feel Good’ and the uplifting balladry of ’10 In Too Far.’ There are plenty more quality moments, but we don’t want to spoil all of the fun for you.
