Attendees at the sold-out shows have been raving about the experience ever since, and now Donald Glover has announced that the whole spectacular will be returning, but this time in New Zealand. The PHAROS show will be hitting an undisclosed location near Auckland airport on November 23, 24 and 25, and although Childish die-hards are more than willing to hop over the Tasman for this once in a lifetime experience, we’re hoping that he’ll also perform in Australia. Hey, if you travel halfway across the world to New Zealand, you may as well stop off in Australia, right?

Footage of the original ‘PHAROS’ events tells us that it’s a sensory overload, where Childish performs alongside a host of his collaborators. And while he hasn’t announced a new album, fellow PHAROS organiser Fam Rothstein says that “people can expect new music in some capacity.” After all, the first PHAROS experience was used to debut tunes from Awaken, My Love!
“PHAROS right now, as it stands in fans’ minds, is that it represents new music,” he says. “But not committing to announcing a new album gives us more space to be able to shift while also not giving that much away.” Rothstein also says that “The second iteration of Pharos should feel a lot different than it did last time, because now there’s proof of concept out there.”
Tickets to the PHAROS experience can be purchased via the dedicated App, while we’re hoping for more dates from Childish soon.
