Chris Yee’s Comic Strip Review Of Keith Ape At The Factory Theatre

If we’re talking about swag and obnoxious yelling, no recent rapper has been more prominent in both realms than Korea’s own breakout trapper, Keith Ape.

Coming off the explosion of his single ‘It G Ma’, Keith Ape has earned his stripes as a certified global star, collecting over 32 million views and an official remix featuring Waka Flocka Flame and ASAP Ferg – American champions of the same bombastic, overstated sound. His prevalence has also sparked another wave of interest in Asian rap worldwide, while his notoriously rambunctious live shows have transformed his anthems into swirling mosh pits filled with sweat and cross-cultural references.

That was very evident when we headed to The Factory Theatre for Keith Ape’s debut Sydney show, where a crowd dripping in Bape and Supreme arrived for a mid-week turn-up.
