Pretty solid lineup regardless…

Coachella organisers are reportedly trying to get artists on it’s 2020 lineup to play in 2021, which is the clearest indication that the 2020 iteration of the festival will indeed be cancelled.

This years headliners consisted of Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott, and Frank Ocean, with other artists such as Swae Lee, FKA twigs, Freddie Gibbs, Lana Del Rey, Ari Lennox, YBN Cordae, Denzel Curry and many more slated to play.

The festival in the desert brings in around $100 million USD ($150,670,000 AUD) for its promoter Goldenvoice and AEG, so no doubt they’re keen for the festival to run again so they manage to make a little income in the current financial times.

As of now the festival has been postponed to October, after organisers announced that the April festival was being pushed back to the weekends of Oct. 9 and Oct. 16 way back in March. The decision was made when little was known about COVID-19. Since then, millions of people have been infected with the virus with nations all around the world going into lockdown.

Goldenvoice is urging any ticket holders to retain their tickets in order to reduce its losses. As of now some artists have agreed to play in 2021, while others have yet to do so. Fingers crossed they manage to pull in a decent lineup and that the festival manages to even go ahead.
