Sydney-via-NY MC and fashion star, Dantè Knows, is continuing to push the limits of his sound with each and every release, and his first single of 2023 is no exception. Crafted with frequent collaborator and producer, Tasker, the new offering, titled ‘Fable’ from the Inner West magnate is a hypnotic creation that delves into the rock sphere while maintaining his signature hip hop roots that have helped him become one of the nation’s favourite sons.

Conceived in the depths of NSW forestland, ‘Fable’ is a makes use of eerie synths, acoustic guitars and psychedelic ornamentation that are extremely vivid in their execution. The ‘Vicious’ rapper’s use of autotune is especially impressive on the new record, warping his vocals to hit emotional highs of melancholy while managing to fit in moments of steeze and bravado. The track as a whole manages to tap into a world of genres while sounding totally unique, touching upon grunge rock, R&B, and of course, hip hop with ease.

The single comes following the release of Knows’ VICIOUS EP just last year, which birthed singles like ‘Banter’, ‘Lost Your Mind’ and LWA office favourite, ‘Bite The Bullet’. Now, with a stack of dates locked in across Europe, it looks like the rest of the world is soon going to be treated to one of the nation’s best kept secrets.
