Hop in the van with DMA’S.

Following on from the release of album title track ‘The Glow’, Sydney trio DMA’S have today shared another tune from their forthcoming third record. ‘Learning Alive’ is a tender ballad that edges towards an emotive crescendo, with the lads incorporating some stabby string that lift the track nicely as it takes a dramatic turn.

It shouldn’t surprise us to learn that the song is an older one – DMA’S are notorious for having a big catalog of unreleased tunes. ‘Learning Alive’ was written on the same piano as ‘In The Air’ and ‘Step Up The Morphine’. I remember playing early demos of the chorus to Mason and us vibing on it at The Lord Gladstone,” Johnny Took says.

The video, which was directed by Rik Saunders, gives us a great feel for what touring the UK is like for the band. Riding buses, playing festivals, an abundance of puffers vests – it’s all in there.
