Drake Stans get ready, as before this day is done you’ll have new music to feast on. Unfortunately, it’s not his long-awaited album Certified Lover Boy, which has been delayed numerous times due to Drizzy’s personal health struggles. However, it might just be the next best thing, as it’s the follow up to his 2018 EP Scary Hours.
If you’re not familiar with Drizzy’s release history, basically he released the first Scary Hours EP in 2018, right before his mega double-album Scorpion dropped. It was an absolute genius move, the EP containing hits like ‘Gods Plan’ and ‘Diplomatic Immunity’ that perfectly set the stage for Scorpion. Whether he’s taking a similar route with the new EP and Certified Lover Boy remains to be seem, but damn, we’re just happy to have new music.
The news came after Driz took to IG to share what appears to be the cover art for the new EP, reading ‘Scary Hours’ along with two diamonds to represent ‘2’. He captioned it “FRIDAY MIDNIGHT,” with a skull and crossbones emoji, so you know he’s got his badass/ cryptic rapper hat on. He was also seen shooting a music video in Toronto last weekend, so clearly the Toronto OG is firing on all cylinders for the upcoming project.
To say we’re keen is an absolute understatement. Check out Drizzy’s announcement + cover art for the new EP below.
