A surprising collaboration.

Rap and rock crossovers are risky business, but sometimes it can pay dividends – just like this unexpected joint effort from Perth emcee Drapht and Brisvegas hooligans Dune Rats.

Drapht is on the verge of releasing another album with 7 Mirrors this August, and we aren’t the only ones who are excited: Spit Syndicate told us that Drapht is one of the best emcees in Australian hip-hop history, while they’re also expecting his fourth full-length to be a ‘masterclass’. 7 Mirrors is packed full of guests including Hilltop Hoods, Briggs and Joyride, but one ultra-surprising name on the tracklist is Dune Rats.

The loose trio definitely made their jump into hip-hop comfortably – providing sun-soaked riffs for Drapht to flow over, while they deliver a mammoth hook in typical sing-a-long fashion. Listen to ‘Mexico’ below, and be sure to cop Drapht’s new album on August 19. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to hand out with Dunies for a day, see our photo diary with Dune Rats right here:
