Time flies…

In news that is set to make everyone feel just a little bit old, UK singer-songwriter extraordinaire Ed Sheeran has announced that his wife Cherry Seaborn has give birth to the couple’s first child, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.

Taking to Instagram to make the announcement, Sheeran posted a photo of a mere blanket and pair of baby socks, along with the caption “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you,” he wrote. “Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter—Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her.”

Adding on, Sheeran wrote “Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.”

Wow! It feels like just yesterday we were watching Sheeran explode onto the global scene, his deep acoustic jams like ‘A-Team’, ‘Give Me Love’ and ‘Lego House’ taking the world by storm. But it turns out the couple go way back before Sheeran had any kind of success, the pair knowing each other since childhood and being high school sweethearts.
