Are Sundays at North Wollongong Hotel the best live music events on the east coast?

After attending yesterday’s edition of Yours & Owls Sundays at the venue, we reckon the NGH has to be up there. The heaving outdoor area hosted a spicy selection of great bands from all over the country, with Sydney pub-rock pentatonic-pushers The Beefs headlining for the then-rowdy crowd, following a powerful and theatrical performance from Adelaide outfit Empty Threats.

Punters were treated to The Beefs tunes such as ‘Punchin’ and ‘Country Member’, with ‘Red Bellied’ delivering the final blow to the frothing audience of Wollongonians. The mutual love was palpable and it’s saft to say The Beefs will be welcome back in The Gong next time the Beef Bus rolls south of the big smoke.
