With fires burning across Australia and skyrocketing temperatures every day, it’s fair to say climate change and reducing our carbon footprint has been on everyone’s mind lately. Luckily, Falls Fest are making a huge effort to respond to this, and are committed to reducing their impact on the surrounding environments.

Here’s how Falls is putting sustainability to the forefront this year:

*$20 from every Falls Byron Event Ticket sold from today through to midnight Christmas Eve will be donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service.

*All shows are single use plastic bottle and cup free, meaning there are various onsite water tanks in the festival. So if you’re heading to falls over NYE, make sure you bring a reusable bottle so you can access these beauties. Green partner of the festival Bettercup will be running on all onsite bars too.

*There’ll also be onsite recycling and sorting stations to minimise the waste from rowdy festival goers, with Green Teams will be wandering throughout the festival too.

*The festival also requires caterers to use compostable packaging and utensils, with any leftover food being donated to food rescue organisations like Second Bite. Eco conscious campers will also be offered the opportunity to rent their tents to cut down on single use camping ($15 kmart tents will be jumping with joy).

*It’s a really good step forward for Falls, along with being included in the launch of a new music industry alliance to reduce waste at festivals.
