We all know there’s a certain serenity to walking home through the empty city streets, the moments just before the sun starts to rise and the world feels a little blue and maybe even a little blurry. It’s the time when you either still have a bit of a buzz on and are reminiscing about the good times from the night, or, you are pining for your bed like a zombie who needs to get to bed ASAP.
According to Josh Tillman, AKA Father John Misty, it’s also a great time to have the streets of NYC to yourself and film a music video. The melancholy clip, which was directed by Emma Elizabeth Tillman (his wife), sees the lanky troubadour wander around the city under bleary neon signs and soft brake lights, and is a fitting accompaniment to the heartfelt ballad.

God’s Favorite Customer is Father John Misty’s latest album and has been described as the most honest and raw body of work he’s produced.
