The project comes after a series of successful singles including ‘No Sofas’, ‘Switch’ and, most recently, ‘Century’ featuring Blacktown’s very own Elijah Yo. Gully SZN is a fusion of London slang, Southern-style ad-libs and trap production which creates a global sound, both progressive and industrial in the same breath. Listen close though, amidst the ad-libs there are also some incisive bars mixing rap braggadocio and hard-headed threats.
Along with the aforementioned singles, ‘Shakey’ and ‘Juggathon’ are standout tracks from the project, and as an added bonus, the latter also has a film clip dropping today. Set in an abandoned building, the visuals reinforce that gully, street and industrial feel the project has from start to finish. The clip also gives Figuero Jones and Black Napoleon an opportunity to stunt (as well as show their united front when it comes to footwear with both rappers running murdered out Air Max 720s for good measure) as they hold it down for the 6k. Gully SZN is available now via all major streaming services. Give it a spin over the weekend and watch the video for ‘Juggathon’ below:
